We are aware of the importance of sustainability when traveling. It is not only enough to reduce the ecological footprint. Ecological responsibility, social commitment and economic stability must be firmly anchored in the hotel concept and implemented in a tranparent manner with a comprehensive sustainability program.

GreenLine-Hotels.com is the hotel booking platform for authentic and sustainable hotels that meet the most important criteria for sustainability to a very high degree. All of the hotels shown on GreenLine-Hotels.com have been awarded a recognized and qualitatively demanding sustainability certificate.

GreenSign

The GreenSign is an established sustainability certificate, which is tailored to the hotel industry in a practical manner. It is awarded by GreenSign Institute.

The certification process is very demanding and extensive. The criteria examined include seven core areas for sustainable business:

  • Management and communication

  • Environment (energy, water and waste)

  • Supply

  • Regionality and mobility

  • Quality management and sustainable development

  • Social responsibility

  • Economic responsibility

In order to receive the certificate, the hotels must positively answer up to 90 percent of the total of 92 questions in accordance with the desired level. This is checked by an independent auditor on site before GreenSign Level 1 to 5 is awarded.

During the certification process, each hotel individually defines a targeted program of measures with clearly defined sustainability aspects of all seven core areas. This qualitative management system is therefore more than just an award, but has the constant development of the sustainability of the hotel as its goal.

The hotels certified with GreenSign meet the highest quality requirements for sustainable management. With the sustainability barometer on GreenLine-Hotels.com in the hotel view, you get a transparent overview of the actual sustainability of each hotel in the individual core areas.

GreenSign certification must be renewed every 3 years, which allows for an increase in GreenSign level with increased sustainability performance.
